In other news today, I was checking some [tag]search engine rankings[/tag] and after little bits and pieces of [tag]SEO[/tag] that I’ve been doing, I’ve gotten to position 3 for the term Niche Marketing, with my site niche marketing on crack! 
Only 3 million results but there are some hardcore marketers around it – the only sites above me are entrepreneur.com and wikipedia so I thought that was pretty cool.
Also even bigger news is that another project I’m working on, we’ve just hit page 1 out of a bit more competition but a term that gets (in overture) 300 000 searches per
month!
How did we do it?
This will be a bit of an anticlimax but here are the things that I believe have contributed most to these good results…
1. The ongoing building of links to related sites. The latter site has x,000 reciprocal links that we’ve built up over almost 6 months – think recip links are dead? Get out of my
face :p
2. Ongoing building of one way links – for niche marketing on crack this has worked great and for the other site in particular we’ve built (on our dedicated server, with different
IP addresses) a network of other wordpress blogs around this blog that link back to it – we’re also keeping those blogs updated frequently.
3. Ongoing article marketing – the usual, submitting to ezine, article dashboard and Buzzle.com is another one we’ve been using with good results
4. Acquiring High PR links – the second site I mentioned jumped from position 11 to position 2 after the acquisition of a couple of PR5 links – only PR5! I won’t tell you how to do this again but I’ve mentioned it in certain courses and videos before
Do you notice the main keyword to each of these elements…
ONGOING!
You don’t get great results and big traffic overnight! Like I’ve said so many times before, the things that you already KNOW how to do WORK if you just do them long enough!
