I’ve been digging Tim Ferriss’s blog lately and I picked up this little tip last week that I thought I’d share.
If you’re someone who reads alot like me, this will help you retain more of what you read and ensure that your library is a perfectly navigable (is that a word?) storehouse of powerful info…
All you do is, when you finish a book, you make your own index of it inside the front cover.
Inside the front cover, you note down all the most valuable points you picked up, and what page you found them on.
That way, when you need to reference that info in the future, you don’t have to flick through the pages… you don’t even need to remember WHAT IT WAS in that book that you had enjoyed… you just open the front cover and presto, there it is, ready for your reference, forever
Here’s a pic of one I did for the book “22 Immutable Laws of Marketing” (an amazing read btw, highly recommended!)
Hope ya found this helpful

I also highlight and scribble like a serial killer in all of my books including a first editon (1940) of “How to Write Advertising that Sells” (by Clyde Bedel) I received as a gift from one of my staff a few years back. No book is safe.
Tim’s is a super nice guy. We met at blogworld last year and chatted for a while on the floor. I thought he would be a cocky prick, totally the opposite.
