I’ve been brainstorming for a week or so about what message I wanted to share more than any other at the beginning of this another year…
A message that would inspire and motivate us all to our highest heights this year and start this process with a bang.
It was tough. Nothing was really standing out to me.
Then, as I sat and day dreamed about something totally unrelated, it hit me…
It’s the new year and it’s time for new beginnings; time to make a fresh start. Time to reflect on what you’ve done in the past year and adjust it for the coming year to move you even more closely toward your goals.
So because it wil benefit everyone, I want to hear from you what you learned in 2008 and how you’re going to improve or change what you’re doing online in 2009…
I’ll make a start…
In 2oo9 I’m going to be focusing on making connections of all kinds. I’m going to remembering that while our businesses are “online”, real people exist “offline”. I’ll be remembering that my network is my net worth and trying to learn from and spend time with those who are the best at what they do.
In 2009 I’m going to be focusing more and more into new ways to monetize traffic outside of affiliate programs and Ad revenue…
In 2009 I’m going to be looking into new places to gain quality free traffic that is targetted and profitable…
And in 2009 I’m going to be looking into new ways to contribute, and use my knowledge and resources for a purpose greater than my own personal interests.
Just to name a few 
So let me hear it – what did you learn in 08 and what will you be doing differently in 09?

Some things that I will do differently in 2009:
* make better use of my RSS feeds. Find multiple uses for each feed. Can they be used on my other blogs. Submit to RSS directories for more back links.
* do a better job of using social sites for backlinks. Automate as much as possible.
* find more ways to get backlinks

In 2008 I realised affiliate marketing isnt stable enough to build solid business on. A $XXX per day revenue stream can be there one day and gone the next.
So with solid affiliate revenue through 2008, 2009 ill be focusing on much MUCH bigger things.
Namely a small collection of niche ecommerce sites.
Affiliate marketing will still play a part but it is no longer the focus of my business.
I actually learned some good technical info.
But the main lessons were behavioral: Do something, even if it’s wrong. And do it quickly. Get out of my comfort zone. Focus! Focus! Focus! Work fast.

2008 was an eye-opening year for me.
I found BIG IM authorities to be VERY complicated
and confusing and intimidating – leaving little
in one’s pocket.
I found little gems that overshadow these BIG
IM sources with easy, doable, “Google-able”
and profitable.
2009 is going to be an expansion of simple,
easier, effective and scalable.

In 2009 I’m going to start focusing more on my own products instead of a whole bunch of JV Marketing, because as an average affiliate: I can’t compete with the free gifts the major JV Partners offer for someone to buy from them.
Plus I don’t get the whole concept of bribing someone to buy a product that they know they need.

My blog/web site has never been monetized nor producing any income for me, the worst part is my Google Adsense accounts were banned. So this year shall be a very challenging year for me to turn the situation around, so that I can get myself out of the race race, i.e. quit from my employment and to be more independent in terms of financial so that I can work on my own career.
I am going to focus on working with Good Quality People, rather than look at what others have achieved and not be happy with what i have done.
