I’ll keep this short and sweet.
We’ve danced around it, and alluded to this fact recently, and I was just writing something and happened to blurt the point out very coherently so I thought I’d share it with you here right away…
When looking for a niche…
You DON’T want to look for something with no competition.
You DON’T even want to look for something with a little competition.
(Keeping in mind that I’m not talking about competition in terms of other sites targetting the same keywords – I more mean sites looking to do similarly to what you’re doing – ie promoting a particular product)
What you DO want is SOME competition, that totally SUCKS… so you can DESTROY them with a better site and better marketing.
Heck perhaps I shouldn’t even say SOME, – if they suck, it doesn’t even matter if there’s a TONNE of competition.
Competition isn’t always a bad thing – the right competition is a GOOD sign for a niche marketer. It can mean money is being made, and can signify a great opportunity.
There’s more I could say on this but I might leave it there to simmer, so you can draw the conclusion that you need to draw for where ever you’re at in your own online marketing journey.
Enjoy.
