I agree with you 100%.

There have been many times when I said "this is what I want." I didn't attract them. I endlessly researched what I wanted. Look at it every day. Made sure the financial decisions I made would allow me to get what I wanted and I started formulating plots and schemes to get it quicker. I became sensitive to what things I could be doing to get things.

The same way I decided "I am going to move to New York City and become a DJ for a living." I did it with NO savings and I can happily say I've been doing it for over a year now by looking out for more chances to DJ and spread my name. I think you're on the ball with RAS and now I really need to tear through that Tony Robbins book.

Thanks!

Yeah, the "think about it enough and the space-time continuum will warp itself your way" stuff is ridiculous. I see things like "dream boards" as tools for creating and environment that opens your mind to greater possibilities so that you'll recognize more opportunities and be more motivated to follow through on them.

I see SO MANY young people who have no vision for their future. They're running on auto-pilot and will end up no better off than their parents were (or maybe worse) because there's not much in their environment to inspire them to believe that anything better is possible.

Kids who grow up in an environment that shows them more possibilities tend to go farther.

The secret is to create a more inspiring environment for yourself than the one life handed you, and then to act on what it shows you.

Nice post, Andrew. You're absolutely right about the importance of taking action. However, you've taken a stance on "The Secret" that I think many people did because the movie completely oversimplified the Law of Attraction... and that, I believe, was one of the big flaws in the movie The Secret. It left out the need to action, which is necessary in many instances to complete the process. What you focus on does expand, but, if you try to attract a car and when you see the one you want for sale you don't take action to purchase it... well, then you won't have it. The things we attract don't always show up on the time frame or in the manner that we want them to. Plain and simple. Sometimes you will have things flow to you with no action, but very often you will need to DO something once these things show up in your life. The Law of Attraction often works by presenting you with opportunities - it's up to you to take advantage of them.

This is a great post! I really enjoyed reading it. It is so true that no one ever gets what they dream for by simply staring at a picture everyday and just believing that they will get it. They need action. Staring at that picture everyday simply provides the motivation to make sure that you do what's necessary to achieve that goal.

I love the Tony Robbins stuff. I've been getting in to it more and more everyday. It's especially cool now that he's talking to people like Frank Kern and John Reese and really relating the concepts to internet marketing.

Thanks for the great post!
