Big claim, but I think it’s justified.

It’s fair to say that when it comes to finding profitable markets to enter, there’s not a lot you can do in the way of “automation” to do it faster. It’s one of those things there’s just no real short cut to.

No shortcut… except this one.

Click play below and you’ll see me using a tool that drops 40 000 niche ideas in your lap every month ALONG WITH all the data you need to determine whether how profitable they are and how you will attack them…

Click Here To Check Out Niche Reaper Now

How crazy is that? It’s not even “niche research” because you’re not doing any “research”. You’re essentially doing nothing but perusing through thousands of amazing ideas that this program has already researched FOR you…

I hate to say this, because I’m such a nerd with niche research techniques, but if you wanted, you could realistically use no niche research technique at all from here on in except switch on this software. It’s completely ridiculous.

And it doesn’t just pull out crappy ideas either. You saw on the video I only scrolled for 15 seconds before finding a niche I’d be perfectly confident, even EXCITED to enter… One that I know I’d profit handsomely from.

Here’s the deal:

The product has just launched this Tuesday. I said to the owner of Niche Reaper (that’s what it’s called) last week that I couldn’t do a review of it – just couldn’t fit it in. Half way through the week I was forced to change my mind after realizing that this tool is basically the dream of anyone who does affiliate marketing, and like me, spends time or money on niche & keyword research. To NOT tell you about this would make me feel like a bad teacher.

The amount of money you could make with this tool, by employing the crazy niches it finds you, is beyond your comprehension. The potential is limitless.

The software is a monthly membership. It’s completely against my best interest (and the creator’s… shhh) to say this, but even if you join this and use it for one month, or two months, you could probably find yourself a lifetimes worth of niches to profit from, and you wouldn’t have to use it further.

Additionally, what I demonstrated in the video is one feature. It’s an entire platform complete with niche research training, training on how to turn the sites into profit, and much more.

It Closes Tomorrow

As you can imagine, this service is for limited numbers. They’re only letting I believe 1000 people in. (which is nothing considering you get 54 000 new niche ideas every month). I was late in getting this to you, and today is the last day of the launch offer at the current price. They’re almost at 1000 people apparently so there aren’t many spots left. I repeat, the price goes up tomorrow. If it’s something you think you’d benefit from, go check it out at the link below NOW.

I’ll Even Do A Bonus

If you end up joining, I’ll shoot you 3 bonus training videos on how you can use the tool to make the most freakin money possible in the shortest amount of time. Sound good? Email me admin AT nichemarketingoncrack.com with your transaction receipt to claim your bonus.

Today we’re going to talk about a tool that I’ve never had much love for, but that more recently I’m growing increasingly fond of, as a way to confirm in my mind that a niche or affiliate offer is really worth going after. I’m going to tell you the tool, then 3 things to watch out for when you search for your niche there.

Ready?

The tool is called… (you’ve definitely heard of it before) Google Trends.

Particularly when I’m thinking of starting a site around a particular affiliate offer (like one whole site just for this offer) I want to know that it’s going to get traffic and make money not just in the short term, but the long term as well. Further, I want to know that the people who are searching this term are people I can actually sell to. Because as Google Trends shows us, search volume can often be very misleading.

Here are 3 things I look out for, with some screenshots to help illustrate.

1. Where Are Your Searchers?

I came across a product this week who’s search volume looked strong. Competition was low, payout was good, I was about to pull the trigger. Until I checked GTrends. Here’s the image of what I saw, below:

Note: The majority of the searchers aren’t from English speaking countries. In fact, there wasn’t an English speaking country in the whole top 10. What does that tell me?

Well in terms of data, not much. But I can make some guesses about what this says, that make me uneasy about entering the niche with a whole website.

Firstly, I don’t know what the complications are for people searching for this keyword from those countries, and finding my site. Will they even find an English language site – like will it appear in the index? Even if it will, how can I know my English pre-sell copy will appeal to them? What’s more, you’ve got a couple of poorer Eastern European countries in there that you can be sure don’t (as a whole population) have the same level of access to credit cards/disposable income (to spend on objects like this product anyway).

Of course, those aren’t things I know for a provable fact – maybe I will stumble across this pocket of wealthy, irrational Slovenians with perfect English who are begging for this product, though it seems less likely - but the inferences aren’t without merit. And when it comes to setting up a business in this niche (which is what you’re doing) the suspicion is warranted and basing a decision on it, legitimate.

I skipped that niche for these reasons.

2. Downtrending Volume

The next graph actually highlights my next two points: (This one was NOT a niche I considered entering, but illustrated this point well)

When a search volume chart had a high a few years back and is really trailing off now, it should be a sign to think twice. Of course a lot rides on how high the search volume was initially, and where it’s trailed off to. So if where the volume has trailed off to is still high relative to other markets, it might still be worth entering, but you should tread carefully, and think twice about a single product focused website.

And there are other volume trend patterns to look out for too…

Sometimes you’ll see big swings in the volume through a year. Like if you see a big high then a big low, then a big high etc you have to understand that entering this market will mean a volatile traffic pattern, and a volatile income pattern. Don’t expect steady monthly income from that niche. If the commissions are big and conversions high, it might still be worth it, but again, GTrends will tell you exactly what you’re getting yourself into.

Obviously the best sign is if the volume has stayed steady (like in point 1. above) and/or increased with time.

3. Searchers For The Wrong Reason

The final point is illustrated above too. Check out the news articles to the right of the graph. Most of them are negative.

If a product you want to promote gets a boost in volume because of a big whack of negative publicity, it’s of no value to you. You’re not going to sell those people who were researching Acai Berry to find out about all the online scams for it. We don’t know what percentage of the search volume were represented by each of those articles, but when we see a spike on the graph when a negative article occurs, it tells us something.

One negative article in the mix is nothing to freak out about, but when you see a volume graph that’s being carried by spikes of traffic associated to negative comments, it should be a reason to think twice. You have to confront the reality that even though a product gets 100k searches a month, if 80 000 of them are searching the term because they heard it was a popular scam, you won’t be making so much money.

But it’s not just negative comments either.

The news articles you see on the right of the graph will also tell you whether the RIGHT people are searching that term. Example…

A niche we entered last year looked to have big search volume for the main keyword, let’s say the keyword was SuperX (the brand of a pill for example). GTrends told me that SuperX was ALSO the name of this power company in India that got headlines because it was involved in this big buyout, and people had been talking about that forever. Result? A lot of the search volume I thought was there, wasn’t. Another thing GTrends will reveal to you.

So those are the big 3.

I hope I’ve made it clear why I think this is something you should do before entering any niche. The time and money it could save you will be well worth the 15 seconds a search will take.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that the ability to find high converting high commission products to promote is the one thing that separates beginners from affiliate marketing millionaires.

The video below is a little trick to add to your arsenal that can allow you to find products to promote that you can guarantee are:

1. Hot selling

2. Popular enough to be searched for by name.

3. On pages with their own affiliate programs with half decent sales copy and hence conversions.

I’ve talked alot in the past about the importance of (what I recently, and most articulately called) “buyingness”: The likelihood that a group of searchers will be making a purchasing decision after they search their keyword.

Targeting groups of buyers is essential to success in niche and affiliate marketing because without buyers, no money changes hands and no profit is made.

It’s the analysis of “buyingness” that gets complicated…

For a phrase like “buy canon digital camera” the buyingness is obvious – this is a searcher who’s looking to make a purchase and so this is a buyers market.

But what about other phrases. How likely is it that someone searching for “dog training”is looking to make a purchase decision. This analysis is a science in itself.

I read a report by an old Warrior Forum buddy (and fellow Aussie!) James Schramko recently that shed light on a fascinating tool dedicated to this science… and hence, a tool that has the power to make your niche research ALOT more profitable.

Basically, some people much smarter than me realized that “buyingness” is real – in fact they created a much more sophisticated term for it: “Commercial Intent”.

At this link I’m about to show you, MSN AdLabs created a tool where you can type in a keyword and it will give you a number that indicates the commercial intent to buy of the people searching for it – in other words, the higher the number, the more likely the people entering this word are to be making a purchasing decision.

Here’s the Commercial Intent Tool – check it out.

Try typing in some keywords from your niche and check out the numbers – you might be surprised to find that you’ve been targetting freebie seekers all along!

The good thing about this? It provides some fascinating data, and could potentially be helpfulto you in making your niche decisions.

The bad thing about it is…

This page has no where near enough description or information on how this data is calculated and what the results actually mean.

Until such times as that information is available, the tool is probably only good for the sake of interest – but it will be interesting to see how it develops and what new info they tell us about it.

I say bookmark this and watch for developments as I think this could end up making our lives as niche marketers a whole lot easier!

From doing this niche marketing stuff for so long, and teaching it to so many people and watching their successes and failures, I can tell you without doubt at all, that what I’m going to talk about today is one of the most important factors in the whole make money online process.

What I’m talking about is…

NOT Niche Research.

I want to draw a distinction here between finding a niche… and finding a product to promote as an affiliate in that niche.

The thing is, a great niche doesn’t necessarily equate to a profitable product to promote. Lots of great niches have no good products that the average person can profitably promote. Lots of great products aren’t in niches that the every day aspiring online marketer can penetrate for a profit… so where do we draw the line?

It’s worth noting that out of the two of those… a great niche and a great product… a great PRODUCT is the only thing that makes sales and makes you money.

A great niche where you can get easy rankings and tonnes of traffic doesn’t mean sh** if you can’t convert that traffic into a sale right? And how it converts into a sale and how much money you take from that sale comes down to the PRODUCT… not the niche.

And you know what?

EVERY person who I’ve seen make money in niche marketing shares this in common: they promote high selling, high converting products. And in the same way SO MANY people who I’ve seen not make so much money, fail with their niche site, or quit have a product that doesn’t sell as their main problem.

Rather than a full discussion on this, I wanted to make the point that finding good products and finding niches need to be separate areas of discipline. So many guides tell you to find a great niche, then the picking a product part doesn’t matter – just pick any product that’s got a related affiliate program and you can make a commission! WRONG! The affiliate program is the money and hence the MOST important part of the market selection process.

The reason for making this post is I wanted to share with you this service that I’ve started using for finding great products to promote. Some of you might have heard of it or used it, but the best thing about it is, it’s FREE.

This site lets you compare offers from many many different affiliate networks. So instead of looking for an offer by going to the clickbank market place, commission junction market place or any other – you go here and you can find offers from all the networks – well 25 of them at least.

I really wish I could make money by recommending this to you because it really is so valuable but it’s free and there’s no affiliate program – so I can share it with you from the goodness of my heart

The site is Offer Vault – go create a free account and check it out.

I found two great products just moments after I logged in. I’m talking high commission, great sales letter, product name being searched for kinda products.

It’s insane – go spend some time there today instead of buying the latest and greatest ebook launch.

I just heard about a site that might be up there with the best tools for niche research that I’ve ever seen.

This is a tool that allows you to uncover popular niches by…

Searching the internet for popular discussion boards and forums related to a keyword you enter.

It’s called twing.com

Here’s why I think this site has crazy potential for use by us marketers:

1. There’s a difference between knowing that a term has 10 000 searches per month and knowing that a term has 10 000 active forum threads related to it. The difference is that those 10 000 searchers in Google could be anybody – but the 10 000 forum threads are filled with people who are ACTIVE on the internet – they are accustomed to seeking information – they are more web savvy (generally) – they are more likely to know how to buy stuff (generally) – they are the kind of people you want in your niche!

This tool lets you find niches with those kinds of people.

2. It lets you guage the popularity of the forums over time. Just because 10 forums exist on a topic doesn’t mean it is a popular niche. But 10 POPULAR forums who’s members and thread/post count is increasing over the course of the year – that’s a good sign. Twing gives you all that data and more.

3. It actually provides suggestions of popular areas of forums. It’s like nicheorama before your eyes. You can hit the community buzz section and see random chunks of popular forum topics before your eyes. THEN you can analyze those and find out more about the forums in those niches. It’s like this tool has been made with niche research in mind.

What can you do with this tool?

1. Obviously – find a new niche market to get started in.

2. Find forums relevant to a site you already have where you can become a member, make posts and leave links.

3. Niche research and free links? What more do you want! (though in fact there’s even more you could use this tool for if you’re creative )

So hit it up, see what you find and enjoy!

P.S. I came across two interesting niches just while I was researching for this post!

Note when I say new I mean new as in I’ve only just seen it for the first time, it’s evidently been around for a while.

Let me start this post with a question.

Do you think it would be valuable to know the Financial Profile of a niche market you were considering entering?

If you answered yes, then you’ll want to check out this site asap.

The site is…

www.quantcast.com

Its not like overture or Google where you start with a keyword – instead you start with a domain name.

You type in a domain name that represents a popular site in your niche.

Then you see stats about the visitors to this site – so more like alexa in that respect.

From there, you can see all kinds of information about the people who have visited this site. Things like:

The percentages of visitors that are male and female.

The levels of income of the site visitors. (are you KIDDING? Invaluable info for niche marketers)

Their level of education! (Don’t ask me how they’re obtaining this information…)

And more.

You gotta check it out for yourself, – it’s almost scary.

Anyhow, combined with our normal keyword search analysis, this could really help you put the pieces together to see a real detailed profile of the market you’re about to hit – again, invaluable in my opinion.

What do you guys think?

P.S. I’ll be telling you more about WHERE I found out about this site in the coming weeks.

Only a month or so after I made the public complaint about the innacuracies of the free Wordtracker tool… Up shows a magical solution

I’ve been using the Google External Keyword Tool in replacement of Wordtracker for a few months now, despite the fact that it didn’t even show proper search numbers, just a “graphical” representation of the level of search volume a keyword got.

Then a few days ago, as I was doing some keyword research with it… And I still don’t know if I actually clicked something to make it happen, or they changed the service to provide this but…

The Google External Keyword Tool is now showing search volume data!

It shows the search volume for the previous month AND the average search volume data.

No longer do we have to speculate that “google search volume is about X times what you see in overture or wordtracker” – now we KNOW!

And of course, since Google is the one who sends us traffic, who’s data do we care about more?

Who must have the most up to date, accurate keyword search volume database in the world? The big G!

This is like christmas for me, so I thought I should share it with you all right away.

Go now, find yourself a great niche, and go make some money!
